Re: Pennsylvania 2016

I think you mean Central, not CE (Central East)? Good to see that my old HS is still doing (mostly) alright. I will be intrigued to see what happens at States... they had a decent margin, but then having 2nd-5th all within 20 points of each other could make things interesting, and it's not uncommon ...

Re: Reach for the Stars B

Just uploaded the test I wrote for MI Region 8 to the test exchange.

Again, like the Astro test I wrote, a bit on the harder side for a Regionals.

Based on the score distribution, it was probably a little too hard for a typical Regionals, but it's still good practice :)

Re: Michigan 2016

Supervising at Region 8 was fun -- looking forward to doing it again next year :D

Also, I'm going to email the tournament director and see if I can post the tests I wrote for Astro/Reach on the Test Exchange. (Related: I may have made the tests a little bit too difficult...)

Edit: Uploaded!

Protip: "please be respectful of other users" applies to you equally. Just because someone was being a jerk to you doesn't mean you should be a jerk to them. To be fair, trolls do not deserve respect, else they will continue being trolls. People on the internet, no matter how infuriating ...

YESSS!!! YESSS!!! I just found out that my school is taking about half of the athletics budget (no academic teams included, fortunately) to buy tablets for everyone!!!! YESS!!! Our high school should take out a bit of the athletics budget and get, like, enough textbooks for everyone. And deal with ...

Re: Most Annoying Event?

I'm a fan of punny event names in general, because 1) they amuse me, and 2) it's better than every event being named [subject]-ology. To be fair, it can get a bit awkward when you're trying to sound serious and important (like on college apps), but you can almost always say something like "blah...

I would also be interested in this. My old high school went, and I'd like to see how they did.

Sounds like what happens 80% of the time that I volunteer at things... the other 20% of the time I'm just sitting around on my butt, doing nothing and bored out of my mind.

First day of the new quarter, waking up 10 minutes before first class. Going great! Heh, last semester my roommate could literally wake up 10 minutes before her first class and make it there on time. It's one of the closest buildings on campus to where we live, and Michigan Time helps too... (For e...

Re: Your Daily Random Comment

Our biology course staff are able to grade over 1,100 tests in under a week... They do it with a bunch of TAs and I think for consistency each TA has to grade all of one question. But also when you're on a curve you don't know your final grade until it is submitted. Large lectures are usually prett...

My APUSH teacher is such a jerk! We had our final today, and AS OF THIS MORNING, my grade was very borderline, and I was stressing really hard. And then, as we are taking our final, he is entering grades (not even recent ones - most recent was from a few weeks ago; ONE OF THEM WAS OUR SUMMER ASSIGN...
