Re: Robot Arm C

I don't see how any item can go in the bonus jug without being completely inside :? And most competitions that I've gone to only have a couple arms that can actually function enough to score any points. If I remember correctly, last year the rules just said the item had to be completely supported b...

Re: Robot Arm C

Hi guys, just noticed that this year bonus items have to be "completely in the Bonus Box" to receive points. So if a PVC pipe catches on the rim and doesn't go in it doesn't count? And what kind of scores have people who've been to invitationals/regionals been seeing? I don't see how any item can g...

Re: Keep the Heat B/Thermodynamics C

The rules define the written portion of the test to be temp conversions, definitions of heat units, thermal conductivity, heat capacity, specific heat, the laws and history of thermo, and thermo processes. How much of this is actually chemistry related and do the supervisors have the liberty to inc...

Re: State of the Wiki: January 2013

I was bored, so I renovated the Robot Arm page and cleaned up Fermi Questions a bit. I'll try to do some stuff on Sumobots tomorrow.

Re: Keep the Heat B/Thermodynamics C

Technically speaking cotton that is sold as batting, or for use in upholstery would not be allowed, but cotton balls would be since they are sold for a completely different purpose. Though they are essentially the same thing. So if you want to use cotton, get cotton balls. Note that my box is fille...

Re: Robot Arm C

Question regarding the diagram/drawing for the Robot Arm that needs to be turned in at inspection. Would it be acceptable to take a picture of the arm and then label the motors, motor controllers, etc. on it? Or does it have to be a drawn or CAD-made diagram to be counted as an engineering drawing/...

Re: Scioly Assassination 100: Mafia Reborn

Well, then. It's not Skink, me, Randy, East, iwonder, twototwenty, forever, Z, and some n00bs.. I accuse harryk because I think he is the Assassinator. Lol, good try but no cigar. I was actually thinking about trying to get the spot, but I've become slightly too lazy with senioritis and busy with o...
