Re: 2011-2012 Events

Hmm, is anyone kind enough to post what the emphasis is most likely to be as well? Or tell me where I could compile such information so that I can post it myself? Because if I remember correctly, earlier you guys said that astronomy would still be galaxies?

Re: 2011-2012 Events

I would assume that if it doesn't return, then they will just change the focus for ecology. Nothing is 100% though D:

Re: Use of resources for studying civil engineering?

I see, thank you for your imput. :D I've found a book recently (but have been unable to actually read it yet) which might be useful. It's called Structural Analysis. Hopefully you guys will find it useful?

Use of resources for studying civil engineering?

Hey guys. So I was wondering... how do you guys design your designs for the balsa events? Do you guys go with trial and error when making your towers? Or are you guys actually researching civil engineering before making anything or designing anything? Because I tried to find some textbooks online, b...

Re: 2011-2012 Events

Sorry if this sounds ignorant... but does anyone know the patterns/changes with the area of focus in astronomy? Cuz last year it was variable stars (I think, I wasn't on the event) and this year it' is galaxies, right? It was Variable Stars 2006-2007, 2007-2008, 2008-2009. Then Galaxies 2009-2010, ...

Re: Wind Power C

Hey guys! I was wondering, when the rules state "The blade assembly may be made of any nonmetallic substance," does that mean that we are allowed to use ONLY nonmetallix substances? Thanks for the help!

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C

Uhm, for one thing, the distance is consistent MOST OF THE TIME, but not all of the time. Thanks for the advice, I'll try what you guys said. What do you mean by move the wingnut out though? And, yes, the wingnut design on the mousetrap I built is the traditional one. Edit: Oh wow, haha, sorry, I di...

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C

Hey guys, so, I'm running the mousetrap vehicle I made at school, and on it's way forward pushing the cup it's fine, but on it's way backwards it randomly curves. Also, is anyone we're using the wingnut design and for some reason the break isn't stopping the vehicle on time. The vehicle always passe...
