Re: Keep the Heat B/Thermodynamics C

It depends on how well your device insulates. For the larger volumes, I think it's worth it, at least for my device. Well what I'm saying is, are the points gained significant enough to warrant the extra effort that you need to do to determine the most efficient amount of ice water for each set of ...

Is the ice water component even worth doing? I kind of ignored it as a dumb idea. It depends on how well your device insulates. For the larger volumes, I think it's worth it, at least for my device. Re: Keep the Heat B/Thermodynamics C

I'm wondering whether or not the event rule writers realized what they were getting us into, especially for B division. Keep the Heat has no ice water component, thus making part 1 thirty times easier, in my estimation. Is the ice water component even worth doing? I kind of ignored it as a dumb idea.

We have a temperature probe that you can plug into your computer via USB and it'll make graphs for you. Incredibly useful for this event.

I see the difficulty in coming up with that ultimate correlation where you can predict anything for your device with a high degree of accuracy. ... Re: Keep the Heat B/Thermodynamics C

Has anyone tested their device at either a competition or just for practice? If so, can you tell me the results because I want to know how well I am doing compared to others. My current result is 18 degrees difference. Thank you in advance. It really depends on your starting volume as well as your ...

Re: Remote Sensing C

And then two days ago at Athens, the test was 90% image analysis and the only other questions were to define acronyms. I wouldn't agree with you completely there... they did have some questions on the environment and hydrosphere that was relevant to each of the individual questions. However, I will...

That site can be helpful for starting to interpret satellite images. However, from my experience, satellite images make up around 20-30% of the tests. You should later try the NASA website and research the major satellites and satellite programs. Wow only 20-30%? I thought almost the entire test wa...

Re: Fermi Questions C

Other than doing practice question and gathering basic knowledge that might be helpful, does anyone else have a way to study for this? I'm afraid that I'll get bored of just doing practice problems rather quickly. I don't know about others, but I'm really good at retaining numbers. So personally I ...
