Re: Maryland 2013

I just thought that when pilgrimage was called for 2nd place, we erupted in cheer, when we really should have waited for us to be called. And Mr.X, what I heard is that in experimental design, they brought a scoring rubric in that they didn't know they weren't allowed to have. ( they had used it ma...

Re: Heredity B/Designer Genes C

At rida: No. You are only allowed what you can fit on the page itself. To answer PicturePerfect (at least on some cases): 1. At the B division level, the rules do not mention DNA fingerprints. They may be mentioned, but I wouldn't devote a tremendous amount of time to studying them. 2. For the Hard...

Re: Maryland 2013

If anyone knows some Montgomery County homeschooled high schoolers, Pilgrimage Division C needs a few more team members!

Re: Heredity B/Designer Genes C

I would include a chart for checking triplet codes on your cheat sheet. I'm pretty certain that it will be important for tests- I have seen it as necessary before. You can find some very compact ones, especially if you are already familiar with the abbreviations used for amino acids *cough Protein ...

Re: Experimental Design B/C

I've got a few general ED questions: Tiebreakers have always bothered me. Say two teams get all the points on the soinc rubric (or maybe they each miss one from a category other than the listed tiebreaker categories). Then comparing the point totals in the order listed in the rules doesn't help, sin...
