Re: Pennsylvania 2014

Wow, EastStroudsburg was right, this thread has been remarkably quiet this year. Anyway, 21 days until States! How's everyone's studying going? I'm going into maximum overdrive with studying and prep. I've developed a coffee schedule: 6am cup, mug brought to school, get home from school cup, after ...

Re: Is everybody O.K at Franklin?

Wow, I didn't even realize that this happened at Franklin Regional. I knew that it was at a school outside of Pittsburgh, but I'm surprised to hear it was at a school that I've heard of. I'm glad someone at least brought this up on here. There was also a school shooting at Chardon HS in 2012, and I ...

Re: Entomology B/C

Hi everyone! I just had a question. At an invite, they asked us to put common names and so we did (according to our list). However when we received our test back, they marked us half for all the common names because say for aphids, they wanted "wooly aphid" :o Is that justified? Since thi...

Re: Entomology B/C

Has anyone had states yet? How was the test? At my state tournament, the test was about 20ish stations with no time limit, just the 50 minutes. Most of the ID's just asked for the order, and there were questions about anatomy, mating, impact...... It was pretty easy, but some of the preserved speci...

Re: Dynamic Planet B/C

So I came back from Yosemite a few days ago. It was really interesting to see glacially carved troughs, but what surprised me the most was that there is a roche moutonnee in the park! It's name is the Lembert Dome. I thought they were only formed by continental glaciers, and I'm pretty sure there w...

Re: Dynamic Planet B/C

How about the division B test? I thought it was quite a good test overall, though the map analysis turned out to be pretty tough. And I do road scholar too :P . Maybe if I had somehow done geologic mapping in the past, I could've cracked top 6.
