Re: Proudest Moments

I pride other teams compared to mine.

PALO ALTO KICKED MIRA LOMA'S ASYMPTOTE in NorCal. Gotta love em and I hope they or another team repeats the performance this year.

Re: North California 2013

I didn't feel it either! I think it would be really great if ML hosted a C Div invitational next year. How stiff a competition do you think Paly will provide to defend their title next year? Lol, Fremont here. I heard some people talking about an earthquake but that's about it... xD IDK, Paly has b...

Re: Least favorite event, in your opinion?

From my experience, yes, Thermodynamics. Our testing didn't produce the same results as the actual competition, errhhh and the competition was a little mean if you didn't have a list of specific heats (else you can't do a lot of the test) and was a bunch of random facts (like obscure history and the...

Re: Shock Value B/Circuit Lab C

Awh. The school I rooted for thought the test was ridiculously hard (said something about 10 zig-zagging impossible wheatstone bridge like thing), but now that I come here, maybe I'd have the chance if I were to compete against national teams! Yah, I'd imagine the differences that would've turned ou...

Re: Experimental Design B/C

With Casio (don't know the number, but the high end one) and Ti-36 you can do the z-distributions, but it'd be nice if there was t / chi square... Somewhere would be nice. Yeah, when it comes to calculators, getting a better one isn't like the difference between an 83/84 and an 89 if you compare thi...

Re: Experimental Design B/C

~5% rule? Doing what is reasonable for how important the matter of the problem asked.
I know certain scientific calculators can do the z-test, (linear regression, other tests would be nice too), would make the conclusion etc much stronger than simply stating summary statistics.

Re: Experimental Design B/C

We did alright. Are team isn't really to the point where we are a huge threat at states, but we're beginning to excel at the regional competition. Also, the way the experimental design topic was worded was confusing. It said, "how does mass added to a coin effect the number of times it lands on hea...

Re: North California 2013

Yes! Sacramento! I'll be attending college at CSUS with the commute :) So I can go to both the state and regional competitions (and possibly volunteer). And the results are amazingly close for the state competition, I'm just being bitter by ranking the teams on a different scale: How much each team ...

Re: North California 2013

Congratulations Palo Alto, Churchill, and all other teams who competed! Palo Alto beat Mira Loma?? wow! I am also quite impressed. Congrats, everyone! I had a lot of fun. :D Oh yay, finally. Change. This says that all of the other teams have a chance now. :) Congratulations! P.S. I'm rooting for a ...

Re: Shock Value B/Circuit Lab C

Wow... what kinds of tests have you all been getting? I've seen one test(out of 4 this year) that had norton and thevenin equivalents, and I haven't seen anything complicated from a circuit analysis standpoint. All I've seen is a battery and a resistor network... Maybe a charge curve equation or tw...
