Re: Shock Value B/Circuit Lab C

I think labeling our techniques is more confusing than just stating a problem and the steps taken to solve it. Superposition, Node/Mesh Analysis, Thevenin/Norton, Kirchhoff, etc are all techniques that I just use intermixed to solve a problem the fastest way I see possible. If I see a viable shortcu...

Unbihexium wrote: Also, who needs Kirchhoff's laws when you have node voltage analysis? :D
Cough. What laws are you using when you are using node voltage. Well, with some of the explanations I've been hearing on these forums as well, Kirchhoff would be the quick and easy answer that makes things make more sense.

Re: North California 2013

That circuit lab test was upsettingly easy (4th and Franklin)(time tie-breaker without warning when there are people that like to check their calculator line multiple times to see if they punched in all the numbers correctly if you have 30 minutes or so to take a 5 minute test) while the thermodynam...

Re: Shock Value B/Circuit Lab C

Its seems that the lab portion hurts more people that it helps, but it usually helps me more, just because I know how to do everything they could ask us to do, I actually sit down and try to think of a way they could make a lab and then prep for it sometimes... Haha, all of those things that hurt p...

Re: Shock Value B/Circuit Lab C

...Regionals rant~most upsetting test ever-4th and we're not going to states. So all our test was was a 10 V battery connected in parallel to a branch of a (2 1k Ohm resistors in series) and another branch with a 1k ohm resistor and a .5k ohm resistor in series. We were asked to find the current in ...

Re: Fermi Questions C

How do they overlap? Could you elaborate a bit? For the toilet seat question---- 5? I would have guessed more if it wasn't for the quote. I meant they are in the same time-slot at my regionals. I wish I could do both. ...I would've done a lot higher number myself, but then when I wanted to look up ...

Re: Fermi Questions C

Find the bacteria on a toilet seat. "His studies have found that on the average toilet seat there are 50 bacteria per square inch. According to Gerba, there are about 10 million bacteria per square inch on a sponge, and a million on a dishcloth. In other words, a kitchen sponge is 200,000 times dirt...

Fifth the math event.
But on topic:
Fluids--One of those things with a hole in it and the water leaks out, part of the competition is to build one that makes the water go the correct distance. And a test :)
