Re: Air Trajectory B/C
Has anyone had much luck with the racquetballs and practice golf balls? I've almost entirely seen people using ping pong balls, but they have a really poor flight pattern and tend to curve in the air. Practice golf balls don't fit well in any of the pvc tubes I've tested them with, anyone have luck ...

Re: Design
I've noticed that Armor all has been frequently recommended for lubricating motors. I looked for it on amazon and found this http://www.amazon.com/Armor-All-10228-Original-Protectant/dp/B0007898UI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422241231&sr=8-1&keywords=armor+all Is this the armor all that you...

Re: Winding
What are some of the best rubber thicknesses you guys have found? And with how many winds? That really depends on the prop/plane. We have been using 87 rubber with some success, with upwards of 1800 winds on it. With our other props, we use less winds on 94 rubber, but that is less successful. Curr...

Re: Circular
First, whenever you notice sudden changes in a plane that has otherwise been flying OK, check for something broken. . . . Reading carefully I'd really check the prop axis. Consider more tail boom angle and stab tilt, one at a time. Jeff Anderson Livonia, MI Well, some bad weather forced an early di...

Re: weight. thoughts?
well i feel bad because we didnt weigh the origanal pieces as we built. i do happen to know that the fuse including hook and prop assembly weighs 4.4 and the ikara prop we have weighs 2.05 and the wing weighs about 2.13. we are using a combo of the freedom flight model with a home made wing design ...

Re: Air Trajectory B/C
It's so frustrating how the rules dont specify a minimum ceiling height. My partner and i went for the high power, high angles. Needless to say we went to invitationals and hit the ceiling. Now we need to do a total overhaul by using adjustable drop height rather than adjustable angle. You shouldn'...

Re: Winding
Quick question, why do people unwind their rubber to adjust for ceiling height? Why not just wind it less in the first place? I've also had a lot of inconsistency with winding rubber, they all seem to snap at totally different points. My 0.87 with armor-all has been snapping anywhere between 1700 an...

Re: It's About Time C
Wikipedia is always a good place to start: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unit_of_time Now I'm ashamed I missed that article haha. I still can't find the length of a glass though.... From my Fermi days, I have this: https://www.unc.edu/~rowlett/units/dictG.html. But note I got that just by googling ...

Re: It's About Time C
Anyone have a good source on the length of a jiffy, shake, glass, fortnight, lustrum, blink, etc? It was tested on the northview test, and I can't find much on them.
