Re: Robo-Cross B
Thanks for the chat...new to event and Science Olympiad. Showed team old bots we had. Homemade design pusher and homemade lift bucket were fun. Looking to upgrade. Any suggestions on where to find a gearbox to create effective lift and dump bucket? Are you using a kit like vex/lego? I'm a little co...

Re: Design
I'm still kind of new to this, so excuse me if there are obvious answers to these questions. First, why is the wing lifted up above the motor stick? I was guessing it was to keep it out of the wind from the prop, but how high should I lift it? Also, quite a few designs have the horizontal stab mount...

Re: Science Olympiad 2014-2015 Events
For the Wright Gliders event for 2015, is it predicted to be elastic powered or capacitor powered? Does anyone have any information?? I woudl guess capacitors, since SO tries to do new things once in a while, and Wright Stuff - Capacitors hasn't been used as an official event. I would hope it is ca...

Re: Swap Meet!
Hats are big, so are license plates. Things that light up, we always being light sabers. I don't really trade as much anymore though, I just watch people feel sad after I tell them I'm not trading my Gyarados hat  I think I SAW YOU! I was walking around..but it was pretty crowded...But aro...

Re: 2014 National Tournament: University of Central Florida
I hope so. The one from... (2011 was it?) was very useful. If nobody is planning to make one i could help organize one for this year. we could ask people who placed or got top ten for a tech event to send a pic of their device and we could also use the pictures that the event supervisors took. I th...

Re: Swap Meet!
I think we should start a competition to see who got the best deal in the swap meet. Of course, no one will beat the guy I saw trade a rubix cube for a cheese hat.......... But I traded a Kansas license plate for a tote bag, a Brian Wilson bobblehead, a Chicago magnet, and a tiny t-shirt. I also go...

Re: 2014 National Tournament: University of Central Florida
He told us we would not be allowed to compete due to it being against the rules to "change time slots" on the day of the event. It is indeed against the rules. From http://scienceolympiad2014.com/tournament.html "Teams are not allowed to make schedule swaps with other teams and super...

Re: 2014 National Tournament: University of Central Florida
While we're on the topic of appeals and arbitrations, what exactly is the process/grounds for disqualification? The event supervisor for rotor egg drop tried to DQ us due to an error somewhere in the registration process messing up the schedule. He did everything in his power to try and keep us fro...
