Re: Rotor Egg Drop B
Congrats to everyone who did rotor egg drop this year! Does anyone know the winning time? I got 4th (really close to a $3k scholarship arggg) with something between 8.2 and 8.6 (I didn't time it, but my friend took video) I noticed a lot of people hit the wall (including Daniel Wright.) I got lucky...

Re: 2014 National Tournament: University of Central Florida
While we're on the topic of appeals and arbitrations, what exactly is the process/grounds for disqualification? The event supervisor for rotor egg drop tried to DQ us due to an error somewhere in the registration process messing up the schedule. He did everything in his power to try and keep us from...

Re: Robo-Cross B
We'll certainly try to clean up the rules. And I wouldn't sweat too much whether others agree with either interpretation. The appeals committee ruled, like I said, I'm OK with that. If I can't make the rules clear enough to withstand appeals, more work needed on my part. Regards, Jeff Anderson Livo...

Re: Meteorology B
Has anyone had a question about debris flows or atmospheric rivers on any of their tests? I had a couple picture labelling questions on those two topics at Regionals and States. Wait, now that I remember, we had a question at one of the invites to determine the hazard pictured in the image, and it ...

Re: Shock Value B/Circuit Lab C
The resistor circuit construction actually went by pretty quickly for me. Maybe I'm just good at guessing. But the Norton and Thevenin stuff completely threw my teammate and I off. We ended up just doing regular voltages and resistances and hoped we were right. :? Also, the thing about what resista...

Not once, although they are clearly listed as hazards to be tested on in the rules.John Richardsim wrote:Has anyone had a question about debris flows or atmospheric rivers on any of their tests?

I think it is against what scioly really stands for, and instead of forcing their kids todo scioly, parents should try I spark interest instead.
What is your opinion of going and doing fun stuff (like going to universal) during nationals? Also things like curfew and general fun stuff/celebrating?

Re: 2014 National Tournament: University of Central Florida
What is the tiebreaker rule for nationals? Based on medals, SAA has more, but Springhouse has the highest placing with 2nd in CJAP. Most golds, if still tied then most silvers, if still tied most bronzes, etc. Also, due to a scoring mixup, Science & Arts Water Quality was rescored from 32nd to ...
