Re: Astronomy C

Suppose that now after a series of observations astronomers have deduced some properties of this pair of stars. The parallax angle of this system is 0.0555…”. The mean separation of these two stars appears to be 1.11”. What is the semimajor axis of this binary star system, in AU? How would you solve...

Re: Astronomy C

Hey, just wondering if any tests would when solving Hubble's law, whether they would give Doppler effect portion of it to find velocity? instead of straight up them giving the values? Has the Hubble's Law questions been straight forward? Thanks!

Re: Rocks and Minerals B/C

Anybody have tips for what to put in our binder, because i feel like its just moot, because if you can bring your book, then you already have all of the information readily available.
Thanks a lot

Re: Pictures, Videos, and Scores

Thank you all for responding to me, love the feedback. yeah, when I tested my towers, they all broke by "exploding", pieces flying everywhere.I use one universal sized balsa, but recently ordered some smaller balsa from specializedbalsa. should arrive soon.

If I remember correctly many of last year's bridges were comprised of four main uber thick and strong compression members with very thin tension members on the bottom, do you think teams are doing a similar type thing this year? With three very strong members with very thin cross braces running alon...

Re: Pictures, Videos, and Scores

I am just wondering what some of your towers look like, like, how do you get it so light, because when i use wood sparingly (balsa) i get like 15g, and my tower doesn;t even hold all 15kg
Thanks

Re: Towers B/C

I found that balsa is actually better to use for joints, just because bass is denser, and glue won't easily penetrate through, into the wood creating a weaker bond. Plus, has anyone made a triangular base and top yet?
