I doubt it. Feb 8th was a Saturday this year, though. They may have just forgotten to change the date

Quite possibly.

Re: Experimental Design B/C

:) Thanks Unome. Number your steps, include diagrams. Makes the ES's job a lot easier. What he said. I only did this for six months. Also, something that can trip up the supervisors when they are grading it are the repeated steps...make sure that you say something along the lines of "repeat st...

Re: Illinois 2014

So IMSA is no longer holding the regional for the Chicago region...I suppose that's okay because I personally prefer the college of Dupage's campus to IMSA's. Thanks for posting and clearing that up!

Re: The "Have you ever" game.

Um...geez, I hope not. I don't think any of my posts have been really inappropriate, but you never know. Other than the content of my posts, I don't think I have violated any other forum rules. Have you ever gone somewhere (in your house, say), intending to do something, and then totally forget what...

Agreed about the traction. Our braking was so inconsistent this year. The same axle rotation would sometimes be 20 cm over or 40 cm under. It's hard to know where to draw the line where you don't want your car to go too fast...and there's no real way to find out except tons of practice.

Re: Science Olympiad 2014-2015 Events

So I've heard a huge amount of events that might be replacing water quality. So far, I've been told that these are the events that may be replacing it. Some are more likely than others to replace it but it's still possible Green Generation Crave a Wave Awesome Aquifers Ecology Just wondering on you...

Re: Best of Nationals 2014

My wheeled vehicle got 34th place at nats. I dont know if we could put that as 'best of nats'... but it just messed up at nats. It probably would have gotten top ten if it didnt screw up. We got scores of -10 to -15 sometimes with a speed of 1 sec Woah..THAT FAST! AND THAT SMALL OF A SCORE! The hig...

Re: Best of Nationals 2014

I'd love to email a picture of our wheeled vehicle...but we left it in Florida. Plus we smashed it directly after running it. :D I could email you a picture of our first ever car which took 32nd at an invitational...but nah.

Re: Road Scholar B

We took 11th, barely finished the test but missed the last question in the manila folder - didn't realize it existed :( Yeah, we certainly got lucky enough to get 11th, especially because we weren't able to go back and check our answers and we missed one question! Anyway, congrats on everyone who t...

Re: Water Quality B/C

Did anyone else find the nationals test to be reeeaaaallllly hard? We got 46th (ouch :| ) but I'd like to see what some of the top teams thought of the test. My partner and I thought it was okay, not really expecting to finish 2nd, but still really relevant. I know we got pretty much all but maybe ...

Re: 2014 National Tournament: University of Central Florida

We were able to correct the mistake because we arbitrated. We talked immediately after we got the scores back to the guy who was running the whole thing, and he brought it to the head people. They went back through to see if any mistakes had been made in the grading and, sure enough, our score had a...

Re: Science Olympiad Stories

Okay, I have one from Water Quality. Back at the beginning of the year, our coach split up the indicator species to the four of us on the team (Two V, two JV) and told us that our homework was to figure out the feeding habits, life style and general ecology for each of the organisms. So, at the next...
