Re: Optimal "Cure" time for Bridges

For the first year of boomilever I let my regional bridge sit for a week, and it did not do nearly as well as expected. I usually like to wait at least a full 24 hours. My booms last year used pretty low density wood, and CA gule (blue and purple), but every desinty type responds differently to dyna...

Re: Favorite Event

Any of the Balsa events, but my favorite is probably the bridge event this year. I honestly can't get enough of it.

Re: Building Materials

Yeah, if you look in the right places you can find balsa that is the perfect density for wherever you may need it on your structure. Bass isn't necessary, but is prefered by some. Specialized Balsa has great wood for building your final structures before regionals and states, but any hobby store wit...

Re: Scores B/C

division C mass : 8.30 g mass held: 15 kg total efficienty: 1807 side note: I'm far behind on wright stuff and this bridge survived the 15kg load with no creaking or abnormal sounds of any kind. If I do end up being pressed for time, would it be a good idea to just re-test this bridge? I would high...

Re: Designs B/C

Specialized is very pricey, and it can take a while to get your wood. Until you build your competition model you can get about all the wood you need from a good local hobby store. You just need to know what you're looking for.
