Re: Disease Detectives B/C

What are some sample statistics questions I might see on a test in Division C? I've been looking through the tests from last year's test exchange but I haven't seen too many statistics questions. Check out Cy-Falls 2015, pg 13 for Cochran-Mantel-Haenszel tests. Very few tests are written with CMH i...

Re: Unofficial Rankings C

After beating Stevenson at state, why do you rank new trier 3 places below them??? East ranks them with some sort of *proprietary* ;) formula that (from what I know, please correct me if I'm wrong) factors in score differences from state this year and past score differences to spit out the rankings...

Order of operations is implied, from what I can tell.

Re: Electric Vehicle C

Any suggestions for regulating my power supply to my brushless ESC? I tried using a buck converter rated for 8A (12A max) with the voltage set at 7V, but I think the sudden load fluctuation caused the converter to break because now I can no longer adjust the output voltage to any other quantity tha...

Re: Unofficial Rankings C

Going by Wright State results, arguably better competition than Indiana states, Munster might need to get a bit lucky to break top 10 and New Trier has a better shot, although one invitational is probably not enough data to draw solid conclusions on that. They were split at Wright State, and have i...

Re: 2017 National Tournament: Wright State University

I'm quite certain the disappointment will be widespread, both on the grounds that these events are likely to appeal to a very narrow niche of SO students and that there are so few opportunities. State tournaments generally have more trial events. Indiana usually runs four (per division). The recent...

Re: Hovercraft B/C

I am looking at computer fans right now and I found one that has a high CFM. However, when I looked at the operating voltage in the datasheet, the voltage range is from 10.8 to 12.6. I was wondering if this fan will still run or not. Will the fan still be powerful? I already ordered the fan, so if ...
