Where did these come from?
I am guessing they were received by a coach. @RestingDoll, do you have a link for B?

Re: Poorly Run Event Stories

Also there comes a point where length just becomes stupid. We like long tests. We just think they're too long. That is a fair opinion. How about trying to defend your points instead of just saying "they work hard"? QB writers work hard. Some QB writers work harder than a lot of the people on this f...

Re: Poorly Run Event Stories

There were only 17 stations, with 14 having specimens to identify and most answers were a few word answers (originally I had 15 but had to add 2 more because there are 17 teams per block). And you had 2.5 minutes to complete each station. 10% is approximately 1 question per station (some had more)....

Re: Hovercraft B/C

The issue is that nothing in the problem indicates that Poiseuille Equation should be applied (viscosity, laminar flow, etc). I think that is a fair criticism. The ES agreed he should have given more information to indicate the Poiseuille equation was needed. I think his assumption was that most pi...

Re: Hovercraft B/C

Huh, I would think that v(b) = 4 * v(a). Maybe they wanted you to specify that the velocity in pipe B was 4 times as fast as pipe A rather than just having 4:1 without specifying. Or I could just be wrong and the velocity is constant but why. I would also agree it should be 4x, but the answer key s...

Re: MIT Invitational 2018

Can’t people photoshop out the watermark if they really care? They could although it would be a ton of work because with 26 events’ worth of documents with each page of every document having the watermark on it, it would sound like a super huge pain to really go through and remove all of them (that...

Re: Events 2017-2018

This is just speculation, but I'd expect a lot more questions about boiled potatoes with an internal temperature of 91 degrees Celsius... maybe a few separable differential equations Haven't seen any rules next year's for Thermodynamics but generally calculus is avoided on tests as it may be diffic...
