Re: Thermodynamics B/C

But there are only so many tests. There are quite a few tests on the wiki, which are pretty good. Well, I guess a Google Search Couldn't hurt. There are many AP Chem and Physics tests on Google. Besides Entropy and enthalpy, how much of thermochemistry do you think could be tested? The only thermoc...

Re: Thermodynamics B/C

Alright, now that I've studied enough to competent, what type of thermo question is the hardest (assuming you have appropriate notes and a decent knowledge of AP Physics II covering fluid dynamics and thermodynamics). I believe it could be the calculation problems, but as long as you understand wha...

Re: Thermodynamics B/C

With all this discussion of fiberglass in the blankets, how exactly can the es tell? Isn't fiberglass like pink? (I am a noob at this kind of stuff)

Re: Thermodynamics B/C

At solon, Mason ran the event with large syringes to get the perfect volume of 75 ml (iirc) which is a pretty great idea. The test was the best test I've taken to date, in my opinion, especially considering we had 35 minutes to complete it (albeit I did not attend MIT this year). Are you allowed to...

Re: Thermodynamics B/C

One thing I have noticed in past tournaments is that several teams are allowed to leave their thermometers inside their device during the testing time. So I have a few questions: 1. Is this allowed? By the rule that states that the hole must remain unobstructed during testing time, I don't think so...

Which one would you recommend for a hovercraft that holds about 5-8 penny rolls?

Re: Thermodynamics B/C

Um what is that supposed to mean? MIT has put in a lot of effort into preventing the trading of their tests. In fact, they’ve placed a watermark unique to each school on all the tests and keys they’re sending out. If they catch the tests of one team circulating around, then they won’t be invited to...

Is anyone willing to trade for it? Or is that not aloud?

Re: Thermodynamics B/C

Anyone know the top device scores at MIT? I heard some top teams went for ice bonus Speaking of MIT, what did everyone think about the test? While I thought the multiple choice section was mediocre at best, the free response questions were pretty amazing (despite how difficult that last part was). ...

Re: Thermodynamics B/C

How close are you guys getting to your actual final temperature with predictions at competitions? Some people are like 0.2 degrees off whereas others are 10-15 degrees off?
