Hi, for those of you who have been to States and other competitive invitationals, how hard is states? Like 27 teams in states vs like 50 teams at an invitational where 20 teams are actually good? Thermodynamics: Split us into two groups to get hot water. One group was closer to the water bank so their temperature of water was hotter to begin with. Whereas we had to sprint across the room with hot water.

Ice Water Bonus (IWB) = (volume of ice water in ml /10) points Teams may elect to add up to 50 mL of water from an ice bath to their internal beaker immediately after receiving the hot water for bonus points. I am curious as to how one can determine if one's aerogel has fiberglass in it. I don't do the event, but there was some confusion regarding that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Checking the details from where you order it should usually be enough... serious advice...aerogel is not worth it...

We got 7 seconds and 4 pennies at an invitational. Could've gotten a lot closer to 15, but the craft went a lot faster than we predicted.

How close are you guys getting to 15 seconds and how many penny rolls are you using at that time? Is fifteen seconds considered a fast time?
