Re: Designer Genes C

I think the easy way to remember is that 5'-->3' is the coding strand so it has to code for the sequence. The mRNA binds to template strand (3'-->5') so mRNA can be 5'-->3' by complementary base pairing.

Re: 2020-2021 Events

I can't wait for 2020-2021 season. I am kind of sad it will be my last year.
I want to do Chem lab, environmental chemistry, and cell biology. All my interests are there!

Re: Protein Modeling C

How are you guys studying for the JMOL Exploration test? I couldn't find any paper tests online from invitationals or regionals for this portion of the exam.
Would I just practice typing in JMOL commands on proteins?

Re: Where to put the ping pong ball?

Which one works better?
Putting it in the nosecone and then detaching, or simply placing it on top?

Re: How do you guys form your cheat sheets?

How do you guys organize your information? I am using boxes for Designer Genes but I am struggling. The problem with boxes is that it leaves empty space because the amount of content for each box in same row has to be similar. Also, how do you guys manage to put so much information on 2 pages? I am ...

Re: Where to put the ping pong ball?

If you were to put it on top of the rocket, could your nose cone have a hole on top that allows the ping pong ball to be placed on it?
I know that the nose cone should be rounded and blunt.

Re: Designer Genes C

You should probably know aminoacyl synthetase and peptidyl transferase. It would be a good idea to know that ATP binds to the tRNA activating enzymes to attach amino acid to tRNA, leaving ATP to become AMP.

Re: Negative Mindset (Stress, Pressure)

Thank you so much for the support on this forum!
I think talking to the club advisor might help.
I guess pressure and stress can be a positive thing. Just the right balance is needed.
