Re: Protein Modeling C

Just wondering, how are you guys studying the biochemistry part of the test? I took some practice tests like MIT, Florida, Princeton, Long Island and I have to admit some of the questions were pretty hard (Gibbs Free Energy, total charge of peptide, psi/phi angle).

Re: Fermi Questions C

The main issue with me is that I get a lot of +3 instead of +5. I either underestimate or overestimate. What is your advice on getting +5? I was calculating what would happen if I didn't get +3 and that would raise my score by 10%.

Re: Sounds of Music C

Same for me. I asked my AP Physics teacher about it and he didn't think it was a good test question.

Re: Sounds of Music C

Have you guys heard of bending waves? According to one test I took, they said that the waves in the vibrating section of melodic percussion and water filled instruments are bending waves... does that mean it is a combination of transverse and longitudinal waves?

Re: Protein Modeling C

It seems to be I am the only one who has this problem :(. I am confused why the Bay Area regional can change the national rules from 20% to 0%. Do regionals have the right to do this?

Re: Sounds of Music C

I saw it show up on the MIT invitational test so it is good to study that by labeling the pictures and filling in the blanks.

Re: Protein Modeling C

Did any of your regionals say that the prebuild is not even counted as part of the score? I am participating in the Bay Area regional on March 2nd and the director said that it wouldn't be considered. I feel so upset because my partners and I spent quite a bit of time on it.

Re: Protein Modeling C

Do any of you know where to buy mini toobers on Amazon? 3d molecular designs is very expensive. I want to practice for the onsite build.
