Re: Replaying Events for 2021

I only skimmed this, but a few tidbits 1. Trial events are an opportunity for our alternates to compete. By making them count, that would take away what may be their one chance of competing. 2. Unless trial events are standardized (which given they semi are next year), it would be kinda annoying to ...

Re: Replaying Events for 2021

However in states like New York, I think they should, seeing as how many of the more competitive teams wouldn't have a problem filling the event, and teams that couldn't likely wouldn't be as invested in SciOly as the state powers. Re: Replaying Events for 2021

Code - New ciphers please. Code is fun but the 10 or so ciphers are getting kinda old to be honest. Hm, just wondering, what new types of cipher would you propose? Polybius Square ciphers, XOR ciphers (or other binary ciphers?), Columnar/Rail Fence ciphers, ASCII ROT ciphers, 3x3 Hill Decryption gi...

Re: New York 2020

I don't think enough teams will join to get good results from a single state. We could hold a mock national for all teams from states affected by this (or just all teams in general). The question now is, who would write the tests?

New York forfeited their bids, idk if SoCal is going to do the same
There's no way they can fairly give SoCal bids while not giving NY bids.
