Re: Triggering the traps

We don't especially want to trigger them separately other than they are separate traps and we get a little more out of the traps if both are locked down. If we have to use a pencil vertically it requires two hits, if you can lay the pencil across them of course that works but don't think that is leg...

Triggering the traps

All, I ask this question somewhat sheepishly ... if you use two traps is it permissable to lock both traps and trigger both (one at time) with the pencil to get the device started or does one have to be already released held back by the first ... eg: you are allowly allowed to have one trigger? Than...

Re: Hovercraft B/C

After spending some time over the past 2 years on hovercraft, I'd like to give some thoughts on vehicle design. 1. Batteries and fans are critical. The general standard is 8.4V NiMH batteries, while fan choices are more varied. The requirements for motors/propellers/commercial fans are entirely dep...

Re: Hovercraft B/C

Our teams is not made out of a traditional material (eg: not balsa) so there is nothing stopping you. I don't personally have any experience with carbon fiber sheet though, so can't help too much there alas.

Re: Hovercraft B/C

Oh I hear you ... lots of variables there. This is a brushless fan with a full 10 second spool up time (it is really slow), so it takes some time ;-).

Re: Hovercraft B/C

Tangentially related, but if anyone has run at an invitational, curious about what was used as the surface. The guidance nationally was to use the floor which likely would be pretty flat, but tables with dips in them (as previously mentioned) will be in our local future.
