Re: Dynamic Planet B/C

Can someone explain how latitude determines the distribution of deep sea sediment deposition? It was on a test I recently took. I don't think there is a direct correlation. Deep sea sediment deposition tends to be based on a variety of factors like primary production and distance to shore. Probably...

Anyone have build score predictions for top 3? Grav, boomi, ppp, wright stuff, sounds, detector?
PPP: Probably 23-25 s. Pretty sure top score at UPenn was only 26 s in 35 ft ceiling (although the ceiling beams were at 20 ft), so I would be surprised to see anything more than 1.2 sec/ft.

Re: New York 2020

So inspired by EastStroudsburg’s PA prediction contest and after some discussion with Name, legitimately, lumosityfan, and a few others, I decided that it would be fun to run something similar for New York Division C states this year. I was originally planning to run this in tandem with a pre-state...

We got 37sec in 18 the other day.

49 sec in around 30-35 ft at Princeton.
This is amazing. Do you mind sharing the mass of your parachute? With the materials I'm currently using, getting much over 1 sec/ft would require an absurdly large parachute, and 2 is not possible.

Re: New York 2020

syosset- only here because of a relatively good MIT performance, otherwise the invite season has been very mediocre. If the builds and widi can stop bombing then syo has a chance but before then lol no. I think you're really underestimating your own team there. You guys are definitely top 5 and I w...

Re: Ping Pong Parachute B/C

Does anyone know how to prevent larger parachutes from collapsing in on themselves? I have a 25 cm radius parachute that works perfectly, but when I tried making a 40 cm radius it had a tendency to partially collapse a few seconds after deployment, making mostly useless. Any suggestions on how to fi...
