Re: Wright Stuff C

theres a reason why people don't post times Not any good reason, IMO. Sharing every shred of data will not hurt the best teams one bit. They will continue to have a pipeline of information that is unbeatable. Share the wealth, everyone will improve, and nothing will change at the top. Or don't shar...

Re: Wright Stuff C

I don't have any videos to post from today but it was all Luke flying the plane he built. In order to keep things simple and sturdy/reliable, he used a rigid (non-flaring) prop and has permanently centered wings, with a 1mm shim that he adds under the leading edge for left circles. We did tinker wi...

Re: Ping Pong Parachute B/C

What's a good size for the parachute? I don't want it to be too big and have trouble opening, but I don't want it to be too small either and fall faster. is it mainly just trial and error or is there a size that just works well? As for the material, I was planning on using vinyl tablecloth. It that...

Re: Ping Pong Parachute B/C

In my experience, using trashcan liner and sewing thread for the parachute is best. As for the rocket, go nuts with how you want to do it. Also, does anybody from NC know if there are any dramatic changes in rules from NC last year to the National Level? take the liner and sew it onto your parachut...

Re: Wright Stuff C

I just came back from the gym. Overall it was okay. When we got there the fans were on blowing pretty hard and we tried to fly the plane but it didn't work out great (the fan is one of those that's attached to the ceiling and blows straight down - We consistently got around 50s - a minute in that c...
