Re: Illinois 2018

I don't even care anymore(I'm from MM) because even with a 1st in roller(i'm pretty sure that's what we would have gotten according to the actual people in roller) Winning roller coaster scored 501 (ie. it must have had about 80cm of gaps). The victor has posted his score in the forums somewhere. Y...

Re: Battery Buggy B

States man. Comp is tomorrow. I should have been done already, but still some last minute things to accomplish. Last year the brake setting equation for Scrambler was 10 - (0.3 * target distance) = brake setting. Wondering what the 10 minus thing means, ideas? An allowance for skidding to a stop?

Re: Amended Nationals Appeals Policy

Let's say we have a range of numbers in cells A1:A23 (but we don't apriori know which is the maximum). We can easily do the following in a formula: mean23=AVERAGE(A1:A23) stdev23=STDEVPA(A1:A23) mean22=(SUM(A1:A23)-MAX(A1:A23))/22 What I'm missing is a reasonable way to do the next step and calcula...

Re: Rule 3.i

Based on this it wouldn't count as a gap, unless it already landed and traveled straight for 5cm So if it traveled straight on the flipped track for 5cm would it count as a gap? If it is the same direction as the jump, then yes. Otherwise, no. Which it wouldn't do on a "flipped" track. If BenZuzu's...

Re: Poorly Run Event Stories

Nobody has brought up the IL State B div Thermo debacle yet, so here you are: The event supervisors decided that "The information may be removed during the event" in rule 2a meant that the ES could take everyone's binders away. So they did. Many people spent the event in tears. If that wasn't bad en...

Re: Illinois 2018

That's a pretty good justification actually, since it's definitely intentionally prepared to be used as a tool. An unimpounded wristwatch could have been modified after the target time was announced. I don't think that a plain English reading of the word "tools" would include a wristwatch - an acce...

Re: Illinois 2018

Yeah, but first off, it's a stupid rule because you can't cheat with a phone. We were just using it as a timer and even though it wasn't allowed, it's stupid we got dq'd. We weren't cheating and the dqing for not that fair of a reason kind of ruins people's spirit to scioly somewhat. The Roller Coa...
