Re: Covid-19 and Nats/States

Just wondering, has anything like this happened before? If so how was the situation handled I've never heard of a situation like this. I expect one would have to go back at least 15 years to find something similar. Perhaps people who've been around longer than I have can comment further on this. I ...

Re: Indiana 2020

What rate? I thought only a few states had cancelled. At the rate that the virus is progressing and the lack of competency from the world's governments in their containment efforts. Bringing so many people in from every state, including highly affected areas, would be a major health risk. As much a...

Spreadsheet problem

I ran this event yesterday at Regional and the spreadsheet calculated scores but would not rank the teams. This was not a very big problem because it is pretty easy to rank them once you have the scores, but I was curious if other people had encountered it. I recall that in previous years there has ...

Re: Mission Possible B

Do you get disqualified if your build is past 60 cm or just get points taken off? Rule 6.b.i states, "Deduct 25 points: For each dimension of the Device that exceeds 60 cm" You only get a deduction. In the rules, it never even says anything about getting tiered for any of the mission possible event...

Re: Action iv: Pour water into container to raise golf ball

The rules state that the ball must "roll out of the top of the container." Would anyone see a problem in having one side of the container cut away slightly to ensure that the balls rolls out where the student intends it to, or do you think that the depressed side would no longer be considered to be ...

Re: Clarifying "Initiates the next action..."

Well, the FAQ has been answered: 02/01/2020 IF THE GOLF BALL WHICH IS RAISED FOR ONE OF THE OTHER TASKS WERE TO FALL INTO A CUP TO BECOME A COUNTERWEIGHT FOR THE PULLEY TASK (3.C.VII), WOULD THAT BE CONSIDERED AS "BEING UTILIZED BY MORE THAN ONE ASSIGNED ACTION" UNDER 3.A.IV? Yes, it would be consi...

Re: Setup Time.

If you are waiting for your device to be ran in front of the judges and something goes wrong, would you be allowed to fix it or is your device expected to stay perfect throughout the time it takes for the proctor to check it? You should always be allowed to fix it - until the ES starts the clock, y...

Re: The object initiate the next is not considered as the shared object of the next action

Unofficially, I think that's okay. I'd put "ball strikes wedge" on your ASL as part of the first task. The second task then starts with the wedge and the golf ball is not utilized twice.
