Threads are not locked without reason. Moving the conversation from a locked thread to a different thread will get the thread the conversation is moved to locked, unless it fits within the threads topic. If you must continue the conversation PM's should be used.

Re: Recruiting New Team Members

Publicizing tournaments tends to work well as long as you do relatively well at those tournaments.

Free food is a good way to lure people into at least the first meeting.

The Test Exchange is Dying

Today while editing the wiki I noticed something interesting. Over the past three years since its creation the Test Exchange appears to have been used less and less. This is odd considering I have not noticed a decrease in the number of requests for tests, and the response to many of these requests ...

Re: Can't Judge a Powder B

Suppose the question asked for the volume and the weight of the powder. Do you just put: Obs. # 4.2mL of the powder was given. The beaker weighed 29.6g The beaker and the powder weighed 30.7g Would it be considered an inference if you say that the powder weighed 1.1g in your observation (suppose th...

Re: Texas 2011

In recent memory, State has never been this close to Nationals. State standardized testing has messed up with it. But I would guess that you study for State and you study for Nationals... I don't see why the location of State in this block of studying would affect time. The real challenge is travel...

Re: Texas 2011

The website was updated with the teams from last weekend! I suppose Cy-Creek made it from our regional. Oh, does anyone know if the regionals people sends out individual scores for each event? My sponsor says she hasn't gotten them yet and I'm extremely curious to know how well I did in comparison ...

Re: Remote Sensing C

a) Read the thread from the beginning, you are not the first person to ask this.

b) Look at the Remote Sensing Wiki

The ccrs link on the wiki is a good place to start, and you should be able to read through the whole thing. After that parts of the NASA tutorial may be helpful.

Re: Chem Lab C

I think you would be better looking in lab handouts and stuff for Beer's Law, though it should at least be mentioned in a Gen Chem book. http://www.chm.davidson.edu/vce/spectrophotometry/beerslaw.html: This might help.

You can, except that it's illegal. well our coach is dead.  not that he does too much except write the remote sensing test 2 days before the invite when we have a snow day. wh...

Re: Fossils B/C

The fossils starter kit is a set of fossils that you can buy to practice identification. You can often find fossil specimens individually, especially at gem and mineral shows, or you can use pictures from the internet.
