Re: Building events next year

Well I'm kinda disappointed, we never had Division B when I was in Middle School, we just started this year (my senior year), and I had always wanted to do Mission Possible, even though everyone complains about. Missed it by one year. Grr.

Re: It's About Time C

The regional test was the fact-based, time concepts test. States was all math, and they gave us all the formulas we needed and then some. Aren't they required to give you all of the formulas? No, in fact I'd be surprised if I found formulas on my states test... Of course it all depends. You shouldn...

Re: Best Mythbusters Explosion

It was awesome to see how the car was standing still but as the plate kept moving the car is just vanishing in thin air. Plus all the explosiveness of the rockets.

But the cement truck was really awesome, one second its there, the next, no more cement truck. And those are big.

Re: Best Mythbusters Explosion

My favorite had always been the exploding cement truck, however after yesterday's two hour special the rocket flattening the car on the highspeed just may have tied it for first.

Re: Building events next year

To me it looks as though Junkyard is going down to B event and Mission Possible back for C event. And I'm glad they are keeping It's About Time, its a fun event. And here are the Division C events (according to the sheet) Experimental Design Trajectory Fossils Disease Detectives Electric Vehicle Ele...

Re: It's About Time C

States is usually harder. The tests combine both mathematical problems along with fact based questions. Check out the Wiki page and the national site for more details.

Re: What is the hardest event?

Astronomy tends to be a hard event just because it can cover nearly everything, though I find it fairly easy but I like it. Fermi I thought was hard and Forensics tends to be harder due to time constraints. I've also heard lots of complaints about Mission even though I've always wanted to do that ev...

Re: Funny Science Olympiad Test Answers

I looked it up, I guess it was because of all the aerosols being used then. Aerosols, for those who haven't had any meteorology experience, are just minute particles suspended in the air. Because there was so much of them it affected the albedo of the planet, which caused more sunlight to be reflect...

Re: Funny Science Olympiad Test Answers

At NY States for Remote, there was a question that asked what caused a global cooling in temps between like 1940 and 1970, and I remembered reading about it but my mind went blank and there was only a minute to go so I wrote that it was the hippies trying to cut down on CO2 emissions. We still got ...
