I've been studying tree leaves/needles and got the guide books, but what else should we be studying? In the rule book it says that ID will be based on leaves, but on the old tests, sometimes it's not... :?

The rules state that you can bring in a copy of the Official National List, but local and regional competitions have smaller, specialized lists. Are you allowed to bring a copy of that? :?:
