Re: Scratch
Scratch actually isn't that bad. Yes, there are bugs and glitches, but some of the projects people create are amazing. But the most I've ever done with Scratch is make a pretty simple project for science class. And that took hours of work and a lot of yelling at the computer.

Re: Pennsylvania 2010
Well, for me, States last year was bad, especially elevated bridge. First, my partner and I ran to the building where they were testing EB while trying to use our jackets to keep the bridge dry. Then, I realized that I, being the very intelligent person that I am, ( ) had forgotten the safety...

Re: Scioly Assassination 39: Sepolcro di Dispiacere
I looked on Wikipedia (how would we survive without it?) and found this: Pallas Athena ...When Pallas is Athena's father the events, including her birth, are located near a body of water named Triton or Tritonis ... Pallas Athena is also another name for Athena, who was the Greek goddess of wisdom, ...

Re: Pennsylvania 2010
I don't think there are going to be any real problems with regionals. But that might just be because my regionals have been held in the same place for about 20 years. My wish for this year: I'm just hoping it doesn't rain at States like last year. I don't want to run across the campus using a folder...

Re: Anatomy B/C
I thought the test last year was hard enough... Just wondering, how do your teams divide up the work (assuming a team of 2)? My team has one person study each system in depth and then they also study general info about the other person's topic, as a sort of backup in case someone blanks out on compe...

Re: Compute This B
Basically, you find data from a certain website (usually places like USGS or NASA) online, represent some of it in a graph, and find answers to questions (all answers are within the domain of whatever website the rules specify). You can also create a website of your own (non-password protected) wher...

Re: Elevated Bridge B/C
Yup, that actually was my original plan. Unfortunately, someone that I am related to is a little obsessed with me not ruining furniture while building for SO. Oh well. I guess putting plywood down might be a good idea anyways because I'm, shall we say, a little accident-prone and if I don't, I'll in...

Re: Elevated Bridge B/C
That is ridiculous! In PA I'd expect people to be more on top of their events. That's just awful - I feel bad! Oh well. I hope they don't get it wrong this year, and if they do, you'll know to challenge. nejanimb, I know. Especially with PA being one of the most competitive states, one would think ...

Re: Elevated Bridge B/C
That's ridiculous! then lame 40g bridges would beat awesome 7g ones! I would say that that's an awesome success too, unless the weight of the bridge is heavy, and then that cancels out a good efficiency. Yes, some person in charge of my regionals decided to add a tier. by the way, my regionals brid...

Re: Elevated Bridge B/C
Hey AlphaTauri, Why do you call a bridge that broke at 14.87 kg an epic failure? Unless your state did something strange in judging the event, like adding a top tier for only the bridges that took a full 15 kg, it is more like an epic success! There was no top tier in the national rules last year f...
