Postby Mr. Cool » June 19th, 2008, 2:24 pm

Who was in this event last year? Cause I'm thinking about joining it this year and I want to know what it's like.
Thanks!

i coached it (student coaches) well basicly it's half life science and half basic science skills. You need to learn some basic life sci skills (punnet squares, reading food webs, and using a tax key), but dont freak out about the process part it's mostly measuring and using a microscope and such. If you do alot of life sci events, or know your science skills well i would recomend it.

This event is really fun! I did it last year and got 1st in the Regionals and 6th in the states. In the states, you do an actual experiment, and in the regionals, you take a test. i reccomend this event!

It will probably be around 45 minutes give or take but it depends on how long your event blocks are. In my state they are 50 minutes so you obvioulsy cant have 10 stations and 5 minutes per station because that would leave no time to like explain the stuff for the event.

So if I already did really well in 7th grade science last year, is there anything else that might be on the test?

Okay, but what is it like? It seems like we have to do a lab. Is it easy? I want to know what past labs have been like.

hey, I have a question from a friend:

"what the bleeping bleep are indicators? :?: :?: "
BC / Harriton High School
'We say we love flowers, yet we pluck them. We say we love trees, yet we cut them down. And people still wonder why some are afraid when told they are loved.'
'Having dined on their companions, they now lie at the center of the cluster, waiting for more food to arrive.'
