Depends on what the holes are for. Generally speaking, for me, I wouldn't care if your drawing is missing some holes if they're just to secure two pieces together, especially it's not used as moving parts. But then again, I'm not judging this event at any tournament.

Google sketchup: http://sketchup.google.com/
and Autodesk 123D: http://www.123dapp.com/
are the best free applications available currently. 123D is more powerful and I prefer it, but sketchup has a larger user base and extremely healthy forums that will guide you through whatever project you want to create.
Oh, sorry, I should have specified that free isn't an issue. My school's license allows us to get educational version of nearly any Autodesk product for free, and we've got SolidWorks on some of the computers as well.

I'd still recommend those two, they are the easiest to pick up and will get you on your way. Once you start hitting the limits of either of those packages you can upgrade to your paid utilities.

Idk the exact time... but I know they had like 20 seconds left to spare, so something like 2:40

I have a quick question, especially those who have already had regionals. For the placement of the bonus bin, will it be randomly placed BEFORE the test, or AFTER our robot has been placed. I am asking because I would like to place my robot on the corner of our base, and I would just place the base so that the robot was on what ever corner was towards the bonus bin.

From what I've seen, the bonus box is placed at the same place from team to team and all the teams are told which corner it'll be during impound.

Yep, the rules say that the bonus box must be in the same place for all teams.
ornithology, forestry, entomology, triple E, green generation, water quality, dynamic planet (lakes & rivers), awesome aquifers, meteorology, robot arm, write it do it. :)

Thanks! Sounds good, but I thought the rules said no impound.
