Rocks and Minerals B/C

Post by Jim_R »

-The path of the Administrator is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.

-Nothing\'s gonna get deleted. We\'re gonna be like three little Fonzies here. And what\'s Fonzie like? Come on, what\'s Fonzie like?
-Cool?
-Correctamundo. And that\'s what we\'re gonna be. We\'re gonna be cool. Now, I\'m gonna count to three, and when I count three, you let go of your mouse, and back away from the keyboard. But when you do it, you do it cool. Ready? One... two... three.

Any idea when the 2012 list will officially be released? I've been studying off of the 2008 trial list because I figure that it won't change much, but I'm just curious.

Probably around the time the rules are released.

Can any of you guys please tell me what this event is about?? I was thinking it might be similar to Fossils, which was my event last year, but it's gone now. So I was thinking of doing Rocks and Minerals because it seemed similar. Any tips?? :?

What XXGeneration said, but it is actually very common for Fossil people to do Rocks and Minerals. I think most of us who plan on doing Rocks and Minerals were Fossils veterans.

uhhhh rocks and minerals ;) you have a list, you know the rocks (sight and info) and more geology/rock info such as formation, uses, environments, stuff in a field guide... etc read what was posted :D and the rules from a few years ago, but ultimately THIS years rules (not released)
No matter what the experiment's result, there will always be someone eager to:(a) misinterpret it(b) fake it, or (c) believe it supports his own pet theory.

Will you need as much background information for Rocks and Minerals as you do for fossils? Because when I checked, there were about 13 standards you had to know for fossils, and only about seven for rocks.
Life List: n. A list of bird species definitively seen by a birdwatcher.
PacificGoldenPlover's Life List : 319
Most recent lifer: Red-throated Loon

2014 (Mira Loma/Troy/Regionals/States/Nationals)
Dynamic Planet (2/2/1/1/1)
Designer Genes (1/4/1/13 (???)/13 (figures)
Water Quality (1/1/3/1/3)

I think the background information will be about the same; they're just on different topics, so it feels like more/less information is required.

I'm pretty sure no one's posted it yet, so

2012 R&M List

GOGOGOGOGOGO.

Edit: I wrote "Fossils List" instead of "R&M List". My b. >.<
