I would love to be able to say "I'm going to Disney world" when someone asks me what I'm going to do now that my team has won the Maine state competition.

Same, although I Google Map-ed it, and apparently UCF is like 1 hour away from Disney World?

Is UCF thinking of any scholarship opportunities for gold-medal winners similar to UIUC?

Eh, 35-40 minutes, depending on traffic and such. They're on different sides of Orlando.

UCF is also only about 45 minutes from the Kennedy Space Center...highly recommend going there if you've never been there (or even if you have).

Well, Central Florida, in May, during the heat of migration season.

Kennedy space center is awesome! I used to go there when I lived in Florida. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember it being almost like the Smithsonian Space and Air. Also, get some bug repellent and car wash coupon. They have swarms of orange headed bugs (forget what they are called). One drive on the highway and your car will be covered with them.

Yeah, KSC is fairly similar to Smithsonian Air & Space, but without the airplanes and with the Rocket Garden. Which is sick. I was there for a few days to watch the launch of the Pluto-New Horizons probe a few years ago, and I loved it.
Academy div C SO. 23 wins, 2 losses all time at State. Best record in the nation.

Unfortunately there's no shuttles to see on the pad anymore, but depending on the launch schedule, you may have the opportunity to see something else on a pad.

Maybe I'll post some pictures (in another thread) tomorrow of STS-135, the last shuttle launch, and my corresponding KSC tour, if anyone's interested.
