Awesome Nationals!

Post by midnightdreamer »

This was my first time and it was sooooo fun. Just as a thread for funzies, what was your favorite moment?
I had one of the Japanese team members hit me in the face with a balloon during opening ceremony and he said sorry over and over again. X3 It was so cute.
And then, we had one event place first (not mine) which is the first time that's happened in our state history and we all jumped up and were screaming.
It was pretty awesome. :D

For me, as I'm sure others think too, was when they announced the Spirit Award to the team that wasn't there.

I wonder why they weren't, does anyone know?

I found it very ironic that the team was not there.

Haha, I was watching the live stream and laughed aloud when that happened. Maybe their flight left early or something.

My team was talking to one of them outside--the story didn't get through so clearly but they were like halfway through, oh we're not going to get anything so they left. Apparently one was still on the bench outside.

It's kinda funny how the spirit award teams can occasionally be less spirited than every other team.

Personally, while I did enjoy Nationals this year, I have to say the overall best Nationals experience I had was in 09-10, while the best Opening and Closing Ceremonies were in 10-11. But what was best this year was the pre-Nats experience. Universal Islands of Adventure with my best friends? Heck yes.

It was a pretty fun Nationals, and I did get to see quite a few of the scioly members from this site.
