If it were, darn D: Maybe we would of had a chance at 1st place then, for Churchill was the only team to beat us. Still a good test, but they honestly shouldn't repeat tests especially in the same state...

10manwire, was it almost exactly like the Sac. test?

EDIT: okay, this is my attempted list on the presentation concepts from Norcal State

groundwater recharge from precipitation
groundwater recharge from surface water
groundwater discharge to surface water
water table
impermeable layer/ aquifer
parts of a well
leachate
movement of contamination through ground
contamination plume
potential sources of contamination
interaction between groundwater and wetlands
porosity
permeablilty
unconfined aquifer

And we presented to everyone so the last group got to hear everyone else first, and they could use their ideas(they got first :( ). It was not a good experience!
:o And this was at a State competition? I hope you arbitrated, at least, 'cause that isn't cool. The supervisor cannot just "think" up new rules.

Anyone know the website that showed you how to make contour lines given the head of three wells in a triangle?

This might help: http://www.co.portage.wi.us/groundwater ... wmove2.htm -- And follow the links at the bottom too. It might not be exactly what you need, but it should help.

thanks, but i was looking for the way to find horizontal flow of groundwater, not vertical. in the test at states it showed three well's heads and told you to calculated horizontal flow of groundwater. I have seen the site that gives a whole step-by-step explanation but i cant find it now.

What kind of rocks are you all using for the unconfined aquifer?

I think that any rock with a pretty large amount of pore space will do. We use gravel.
