Re: Experimental Design B/C
We got 7th in Experimental Design! It had to do with probability. We had to add mass to a coin and see how it effected whether it landed on heads or tails. Sure, I wanted a medal, but considering our team has only been to states twice (ever), I think we did good!

That's a lot better than us! Then again, that doesn't sound too hard. How did your team do?Cjkowalcz wrote:We got 7th in Experimental Design! It had to do with probability. Re: Experimental Design B/C
We did alright. Are team isn't really to the point where we are a huge threat at states, but we're beginning to excel at the regional competition. Also, the way the experimental design topic was worded was confusing. It said, "how does mass added to a coin effect the number of times it lands on heads or tails in a period of flipping it for 1 minute?" At first, I thought that the probability wouldn't be effected, but then I realized it meant if you added mass to one side of the coin. But still, it was confusing and I had a block for the first 5 minutes.

Re: Experimental Design B/C
AP Statistics! Z proportion testing / chi square would've gotten you bonus points (well it would be if I was grading it ), I don't know if division B gets anything special for those that do. You can have your null hypothesis and alternative hypothesis and predict which one will take placeCjkowalcz wrote:We did alright.
