Hmmm. I always thought of Legos being easier than most things.

If we're on a baseplate and the Lego goes on the baseplate, then we describe how many pegs from the closest corner the block starts on and its orientation (N-S or E-W) and assume it's nubs up (and describe if it's upside down or whatever).

if we're not on a baseplate, just start with the easiest block to start with.

Blocks that go on the lower level are simply described in relationship to the block their on.

Legos are a lot easier than loops with pipe cleaners, where to put toothpicks in balls, etc.

At regionals this year they gave me a paper plate to stick toothpicks In, and beads and Gummi bears to stick on the toothpicks. Not Legos, pretty random. But my partner and I still got 2nd!

At regionals ours was quite easy! It was just K'nexs and a pipe cleaner, we only got third though. But, our write it/do it at the Comet invitational was quite a bit more challenging. We did horrible there and got tenth!! I'm hoping that states will be just a step up from regionals.

Hey guys, I have this event soon! I feel like Write It Do It always puts more stress on the writer.

That's because it does. Think of it like this:

A bad writer's performance affects both scoring of the writer's and doer's parts.
A bad doer's performance affects only scoring of the doer's part.

Of course, for this event more than any other, you do need two to tango.

I don't get to compete in this at nationals, which makes me very very unhappy. Humph.

I've done both parts of widi, and for me, being a doer was more stressful. I would never recommend widi to someone who doesn't think they could handle pressure well.
ornithology, forestry, entomology, triple E, green generation, water quality, dynamic planet (lakes & rivers), awesome aquifers, meteorology, robot arm, write it do it. :)
