Re: Mousetrap Vehicle B
Are Tomcat brand mousetraps the ones with the yellow cheese that you activate from the side? I though you can only activate it vertically?

Has anyone been to competition yet? I went to invitationals a few weeks ago, and the target point was centered on the track. Will it always be in the center, or can it be placed further left or right at competition?

It is always centered. The people who did the event for us last year had a problem with that at regional competition, but when they went to the state competition, they had it figured out.Daniel1224 wrote:Has anyone been to competition yet? You need to have a pencil hit the part that a you would put cheese on.sjg8700 wrote:This years car requires activating a trigger to start. Isn't that the plastic bait plate? Or is it something not already part of the trap?

What kind of mousetraps work best for this event, I need to have help on what kind of mousetrap has most force and will go the farthest but of course stopping at the designated area.

well, you can't rely on the mousetrap itself to have exactly the right amount of power of courseThe Big Theory wrote:What kind of mousetraps work best for this event, I need to have help on what kind of mousetrap has most force and will go the farthest but of course stopping at the designated area.
Though i think any kind of mousetrap would be fine, I use victor and find it good, so maybe you could use that. And you don't need the trap to have the most power. I've found that it generally has enough force, though if you want to be sure you can use two mousetraps

Yeah i've been reading that different positions on the chassis would make the car go faster or slower. But i'm trying to make it so that it's easy to arm and send off and the Victor's for me take a little too long to arm, but thanks for the suggestion anyway!
