I do around 10 because there is always a error in timing due to the imperfection of humans.
I don't think 100 trials is the problem as long as the 100th is very close to the time of first 10 trials (which it may not have been). There is just no point to doing so many trials. Honestly the difference in accuracy between the average of 5 or 10 is very small (less than .1s) as long as they are valid trials. However, vents could be a big deal especially if it messes up how it spins. That would also make sense because I doubt you can win PA states with 6s for 15m otherwise.
It most likely could have been that something had broke during the last few trials.(they dont last forever!)I am no from PA so i have no idea how the competition is there.

Maybe 100 was a bit over but id still say at least 80 because we tested ~7 times every other day after we finished just to make sure nothing broke because somebody could've knocked it over. And we checked right before we impounded.

ok, then my second thought ask (the people that dropped it for you) about the air vents.

He said it assumed its normal path and didnt even know there were air vents.

Um, guys? Any of you tried nylon wire or balsa wood? If so, which is better for the blades?
I am currently using balsa wood frames for my blades.

I dropped it, and air vents may have been there, I couldn't tell. It did show signs of gettin hit by air at one point, (a bad, quick wobble that quickly stablized) and some other teams all drifted the same direction. Other than that it looked normal. Slow and steady falling, it didnt speed up, but at the same time it looked more like 10 meters than 15.

Also it got nearly the same time exactly as what we get when testing with a 9.6 meter drop.
