Ah! You're right. :)
I meant to say that the trees were popular because their fibrous root systems made them easier to propagate (and thus cheaper).
When I was writing the question I was thinking easy but typed hard for some reason. ( facepalm )

I'll probably update the test later... ( as in never )

Is there a database of good, clear, online images to study identification from?

however, this one is only N. Carolina, but the list is pretty extensive, and many trees have large ranges, so...

these two websites are pretty good, and they're both based in universities, so they're reliable

TEST LINK HERE
Answer sheet here

I showed it to a few friends who took the test with much difficulty. It's about 40 minutes in length. I won't much more. You can read the quote below. There are extensive notes to all questions in the notes section of the powerpoint. If people think it's good enough maybe I'll upload it to scioly.org

This powerpoint tree test will be the best tree test you will have ever seen. Even better than pink lemonade on thursday nights... Anways, this test takes the form of a slide show with funky (that's right) questions and weird trivia too. It's a real piece of art and I am proud of it. Here are a few snipets (if you need any extra motivation to download :3) and the answer sheet, in case you actually wanted to take the test, in case you ever studied trees...

High quality test. Highly recommend. If you want you can leave FEEDBACK in the comments section below! If there's enough demand I'll make a second one! :D
You can always upload it to the Test Exchange!

Remember, you can write on the tree list. If this is false, well then my partner and I are, to put it lightly, kinda screwed...

2 pages of info, front and back, can include anything, so one could make a double sided tree list with notes

Can somebody scan and post the rules somewhere, because I don't think Florida has gotten them yet. Or is there some sort of copyright restriction? The only things I know about the changes to the rules are from what's posted here. >.< My coach keeps asking for the rules but we're not getting them for some reason.

I'm not sure that's allowed. I think a lot of the rule books got delayed due to a printing error or something (this is all just based on information elsewhere on the site) but they should be coming out soon.
