Look in the thread titled 2013-2014 Science Olympiad in the General Chat. Forestry is being removed and replaced with Entomology; ID events like that cycle out every three years. Ornithology comes after that, I think. Or Herpetology. Remember, they're B and C events.Cjkowalcz wrote:Wait, what do you mean it will not be an event next year? Is it because you are going into C, or are they taking it out of B completely? Also how do you know about which events are getting booted?silverheart7 wrote:Well, the upside to that test was that now, I have a better idea of what I need to study more, and what I need to add to my notesheet. I'm really disappointed this won't be an event next year.
Do you think state trees would be useful on my notesheet? If not, I may eliminate them.

Forestry is in a 2 year rotation with Ornithology, Herpetology, and Entomology. Next year is EntomologyCjkowalcz wrote:Wait, what do you mean it will not be an event next year? Oh, come on. It can't be here forever; then it would be repetitive and easy to dominate. Entomology is very similar, except it's bugs and not trees.

Oh really? Is it kind of like water quality ID, because that's my favorite part of WQ.

Re: Forestry B/C
Does anyone get super panic-y in forestry besides me? I'm serious, I've had WAY too many breakdowns from this event. Yet, it's still my favorite?
Is anyone else doing Forestry at Nats, B or C? I know FueL is, we're going on the same bus

Re: Forestry B/C
I was just wondering what the average time per station is for IDing the trees? I am wondering because at our regionals the time was messed up and we got 5 minutes on half and 1.5 minutes for the other half!! Thanks.
