Reach for the Stars B

Post by Jim_R »

-The path of the Administrator is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.

-Nothing\'s gonna get deleted. We\'re gonna be like three little Fonzies here. And what\'s Fonzie like? Come on, what\'s Fonzie like?
-Cool?
-Correctamundo. And that\'s what we\'re gonna be. We\'re gonna be cool. Now, I\'m gonna count to three, and when I count three, you let go of your mouse, and back away from the keyboard. But when you do it, you do it cool. Ready? One... two... three.

.... First post? Nice :D

I'm going to assume that the rules won't be changing much?

(They do caution that these are based on draft rules, but as we all know, draft rules hardly ever change...)

Wow, more changes than I expected, atleast more than some past years. I'm happy to see that somebody decided to enter the New General Catalouge; there's multiple NGC objects on the list, which is a real change from last year. And then there's the North America Nebula, which is my favorite emission nebula, although it's incorrectly called the North American Nebula on the powerpoint... There's also the Helix Nebula.... which just happens to be my "avatar" thing

It looks like the event got a lot harder, glad I'm no longer in 8th grade. =)

Yeah, it depends on the school. Personally, I started Division C in 9th grade. Wolfy, if you think Reach is harder this year, I can guarantee you it'll get harder than that in Astronomy, if you plan on doing it eventually. ;)

My school is more competitive in B div than C anyway... And I just realized... There aren't any galaxies on the list this year... :o

Meh, for me, astronomy-related events are EXTREMELY easy. Summer before 7th grade, I was absolutely obsessed with astronomy. Also, is there a really major theme this year?

I don't know if there is ever a "theme" other than "astronomy". But I'm really looking forward to this year--NGC catalog! And those radiation laws...yessss. It's just the HR diagrams that bother me.

Physics is difficult for 99% of the world's population because they don't understand it. The other 1% know too much.
