EDIT
Or can you? I didn't bring any.
You can bring anything, with the exception of a computer.

I prefer a binder, knowing where all my materials are and having only what I need. I can also contain all of my tools in a binder and wont have any problems carrying stuff around.

Yea, I brought a binder with the symbols sheet, and all my notes.

Yeah, a binder seems best, because if you put it together it's way easier to remember where everything is. I used to compete in PSIA where they have maps graphs and charts and you were required to bring a specific atlas—no tabs or anything and it was extremely hard to remember where everything it. I'd go with a binder.

Also is there some way we can post documents? I have some notes from the wiki and various sources and it would be neat to put them up.

If you want to upload notes to the wiki (I highly recommend this for the warm fuzzy feeling you get), you can go to Special:Upload and upload your files there. If you want to post documents straight to the forums you'll probably going to have to use a doc-sharing program like Google Docs because we don't have one yet built in here. Alternatively, you could upload to the wiki and link to it on the forums.

It's not so bad. But how can I get a good map that isn't outdated?

You can study with the basic map terms and by practicing.
