According to the Athens Invitational website, the list of teams should be available soon. I'm guessing that means that all spots are filled. Not sure about Valley Forge, but I'm sure glad they're not on the same weekend again. If that remains the case for the future, maybe Athens can expand to around 36 teams.

It looks like ES South is just going to Tiger this year. I don't blame them; while the extra practice is good, Tiger is much closer. We'll see if having two invites is really a lot better than just having one.

So, fellow PA'ers and NY'ers (and OH'ers, VA'ers and whatever other states I missed) going to Athens, scioly.org meetup? Or at least some distinctive way to identify ourselves as scioly.org people?

It'd be fun to meet the competition, especially teams from out-of-state. (Also, this way saying hi to random people seems slightly less awkward/stalkerish >.>)

Yes, i suggest we meet up in the gym next to were gravity vehicle and robot are going to be run :P i don't know what time works for people but i'll be there most of the day... And yeah we should have some distinct way of identification. Maybe we should all wear bandana's or hat's.. not many people will probably wear hats indoors :P

Hey party people, just wanted to bring up this cool "experimental" competition that we will be running in February!

This “invitational” will offer you the opportunity to participate without a traditional team structure, allowing schools to participate with a minimum level of event conflicts and as many students as they would like. This event will be held on February 9th, 2013 at Harriton High School and open to any school that shows up, regardless of state.

Basically, every event will be run for three time slots (builds will be running for all six), with open signups online for every event. There will be no team aspect for the competition, every event will be scored by pairs of partners, instead of team. Awards will be given out for each event, but team standings will not be considered, allowing schools to bring as many students as possible!

Visit our website for more info: http://h2s2o.com/festivus.php If you have any questions email us at [email protected].

Hope to see you there!

I like the idea of bandana's. Haha or maybe, since I believe everyone wears nametags, we could all write scioly.org on our name tags.

Well, I don't know if I have bandanas, or if nametags would be SO noticeable. But...what about paper hats? Maybe write scioly across it or something like that?
