Same question goes for States, but this thread isn't about that...
We usually take a five day trip, from Wednesday to Sunday.

Oh, wow! So sightseeing would definitely be involved. Thanks!

In 2011, we left on Thursday and came back on Sunday. In 2012, we left on Thursday and came back on Monday, since we went to Universal Studios on Sunday. It completely depends on how much sightseeing you want to do! But it's nice to get there on Thursday at the latest, so you have some of Thursday and all of Friday to get settled, scope out event locations, make sure your building events survived the trip, etc. before the competition.

That makes sense. Thanks! We're probably not going to make it that far, but it aids in making more realistic fantasies and daydreams. ;D

My team's always so close. :( and then we get second or third at state.

The thing with New York, though, is that there are so many teams that even top two is very impressive.

Yeah. SO jealous.
but the post above mine is also true. our state never fails epic-ly at nationals though. we're just about in the middle, and our rival. . . got somewhere in the thirties at nationals last year, which isn't too bad considering.

Doesn't every team have a rival?
