yea the one i am using is a simple wingnut braking system in which there is a wingnut on a threaded rod and you turn it x amount of times and it moves till the wingnut hits two locked nuts
this is one i used for wheeled vehicle

here is a vidoe of a wingnut brake

Yeah, I would definitely go with the wing nut. It's reliable, easy to make, and easy to calibrate.

That's why they rotate events.
well before they replaced robo-cross, we have had to recreate a new structure because they changed the restrictions on the size, and that made it more challenging and interesting...

The old Battery Buggy is, indeed, similar to Electric Vehicle. The rules are almost word for word except for allowing the use of electronic devices.

Scrambler was originally a division C event only and Mousetrap Vehicle was only in division B. Over the years, the division B event was morphed into a series of wheeled vehicle events. A few years ago, a decision was made to to include the wheeled vehicle events and Scrambler in a rotating schedule for both division B & C. That is where we are currently at; however, The rotation could change at any time. I suspect that's why the schedules are now in a private area on the national website.

There is no guarantee the new rules will be anywhere near the same as the old ones. Events are often completely revamped when they are brought back. EV was, in fact, a rewrite of the BB rules (with some Wheeled Vehicle thrown in) to adapt the event for division C. I've compiled a history of the wheeled vehicle events.

Re-read his post then, it really is quite straightforward.

You're not the only one! I thought I clicked "Reply" to a message asking if Battery Buggy was anything like Electric Vehicle. Now I can't even find the original message. Didn't mean to confuse anyone.

This event seems very simmilar to scrambler to me. I was just gonna use the same break design (a wing nut / threaded axle) but wat if i had the wing nut trigger a switch that turned off the power to stop the car?
