Next Year's Junkyard Challenge
I've got to come up with ideas for what next years challenges for Junkyard will be. Do you have anything you think could make an interesting and challengeing challenge?

Re: Next Year's Junkyard Challenge
Sort of a random thought, you could add as one of the challenges a sort of Egg drop that you would have to create. That would be easy to make and could be one of many possible challenges
Maybe a car that would need to go a certain distance in x time, by putting no restrictions on the materials or form of propulsion you might get some interesting results
Sort of an idea from time, but a clock (you could ban electronics for this challenge)
Something that has to lift a given mass to a given height (allotted time could be a bonus? or a nats challenge?) many teams could use counterweights and pulleys for example, other idea's possible.
Running out of ideas:
Sort of crazy but design something that can measure the speed of light (for nats?)
Make a tower as high as you can? (limit some materials, or construct outside) (would be hard with the constraints of the box)
Measure Luminosity? Heat?
I'll try to come up with some more idea's later, that's all I could think of off the top of my head

I like idea of a mechanical car of some sort that has to pull a wieght for the farthest distance.

Re: Next Year's Junkyard Challenge
My impression is that there will not be a Junkyard Challenge next year. It seems to have set a new record for hassles.

Re: Next Year's Junkyard Challenge
I've heard that there are speculations of replacing JYC with Mission Possible.

JYC in B and mission in C is what i think. If DeltaHat is saying this then there's a good chance that JYC will be in one, or both of the divisions.

Re: Next Year's Junkyard Challenge
Well isn't this the challenge of getting a new building event going? I think that if it last the next few years then it will live forever, but it not we still had fun right? Maybe a scale or a stacker of some sort. But honestly I love this event!; it's simple, but still complex. I want it to stay.
SO stressed!

DeltaHat said it, back in November. That was quite a few headaches ago.Pleiades wrote:JYC in B and mission in C is what i think. If DeltaHat is saying this then there's a good chance that JYC will be in one, or both of the divisions.
