I really hope they don't bring this into C and also they replace it next year. It really has no potential to stay around.

Why do you think it has not potential. Think of five star science, another general science knowledge event. Five star only lasted a couple of years. I think that pentathalon is an improved version of what was just a test and is now physical activities.

I think the point of scioly is to learn stuff and do new things. It isn't just supposed to review stuff you already know while hula-hooping. Also, is it fair for the team that worked tirelessly, 2-hours a day, for months on wright stuff to be recoginized the same as the team that had 3 meetings before regionals and happened to know the answers to 5 random questions. Most of the events, besides a couple like balloon race, take hours of work in order to even have achance of placing. When you can go into an event after doing nothing, and place well, it shouldn't be an event. When i said it had no potentioal, i meant it was a bad event, is a bad event, and will never be a good event unless they do it in specific ctagory years, like some other events.

Science olympiad shouldn't be random science questions that require no studying. If you don't have to work hard to do an event, then the event shouldn't even be an event.

yeah the way my team is putting people in this event is a week before states when we choose the team and partners the 4 people with the least amount of events are doing pentathlon. We were signing up for events we like this past week and we were not allowed to sign up for pentathlon.

My coach doesn't even take pentathlon seriously. He cracks jokes about it all the time.

i did mystery architecture last year......we did horribly because my original partner couldnt come and i couldnt get along with the replacement dude that took his place.....(spent the 1st 20minutes argueing........) pentatholon is just weird and too easy....got 3rd on it without trying at invitationals (greenhill)
