Congratulations. Did they allow you to place your clock on a table or did you build it high enough so that the pendulum (or whatever you used) could swing freely?Jazzy09 wrote:i got first in state in this event and my team got first as well. will i see anyone else in Augusta?

States is usually harder. The tests combine both mathematical problems along with fact based questions. Check out the Wiki page and the national site for more details.

It completely depends on how the coordinator interprets the rules and how seriously they take Science Olympiad. Most of our test at regionals was from a wikipedia article, but our test at state tested over a huge variety of time concepts, fact-based and mathematical. Prepare for everything.

Ours was almost the exact opposite.kmeister87 wrote:It completely depends on how the coordinator interprets the rules and how seriously they take Science Olympiad. The regional test was the fact-based, time concepts test. States was all math, and they gave us all the formulas we needed and then some.

Aren't they required to give you all of the formulas?AlchemyRocks wrote: The regional test was the fact-based, time concepts test. States was all math, and they gave us all the formulas we needed and then some.

No, in fact I'd be surprised if I found formulas on my states test... Of course it all depends. You shouldn't rely on a given formula sheet.rockhound wrote:Aren't they required to give you all of the formulas?AlchemyRocks wrote: The regional test was the fact-based, time concepts test. Technically, yes according to the rules but I would not count on the supervisor having read those.rockhound wrote:Aren't they required to give you all of the formulas?AlchemyRocks wrote: The regional test was the fact-based, time concepts test.
